04.11.07 | What's goin' on...
Hey everyone - been a while since my last post. Things have been frantic, and it's been hard to find time to sit down!
Whirlwind tour of the UK (well - Bristol!) had a few great gigs! The final gig was the highlight at the Bebop Club, in Bristol. Some amazing players and a packed house made for a really fun and funky night. We debuted a new tune, and hopefully I may put some video footage up sometime soon.
Returned early October, and went straight into filming of The Singing Bee, on Channel 9. It airs every sunday night at 6.30. Lots of fun!

Currently the funk band I'm playing with (The Jivecrank) is getting a lot of stage time around Melbourne - so come check us out!

A representative from AKAI PRO in the U.S came down to one of our gigs a few weeks ago to check out my EWI playing (as I'm a demonstrator of it) and loved what he saw. So hopefully soon I'll have some footage of my EWI playing on the AKAI PRO website (not to mention Youtube, my Myspace, and maybe even here if I can fit it in!).

Currently playing a bit with Rob Mills (of Australian Idol, The Mint and Singing Bee fame) in a swing project playing the old favourites by Frank and Dean, as well as some new swung up versions of current tunes (Coldplay, Robert Palmer, Guns N Roses etc). Lots of fun!

That's about enough for now - more news to follow!

They will be performing it at their 12pm set...

23.02.07 | Groovin' Live - The Jeremy Diffey Quintet album!
After a couple of months of recording gigs, the album has finally been mixed and mastered! Pressing will begin in the next week or so, and then late-march/early-april we will do an "Invitation Only Pre-Release" gig.
If you're not on the mailing list, drop me an email, and I'll add you - you don't want to miss out on this gig! An all-star band will be performing that night, and the album will be available on the door! The album will be released on iTunes and also in stores not long after that - so hang on - it's coming!

19.12.06 | Live recording @ Paris Cat!

06.11.06 | Trio gigs @ Paris Cat
Following its success over the past few weeks, the Jeremy Diffey Trio will be playing Friday nights at Paris Cat, from 6-8pm. The gig is free entry, so come on down and get ready for the weekend with some great tunes!

29.09.06 | Soundslikecafe compilation released in cafes!
The new Soundslikecafe compilation has been released in cafes around Australia! The CD features the track "So Close" by Jeremy Diffey and Christin Deralas.
It also has a song from fellow Eltham boy, Ben Brazil. The tune is called "Lone Rider" and is by BoomLa, a Melbourne based duo (Ben Brazil and Syrene). The tune is great - check it out on iTunes, or in stores (it may take some hunting...). It's on the self-titled EP "BoomLa.
If you are in a cafe around Australia, make sure you ask them if they have the new Soundslikecafe cd (volume. 13) and if they do, ask to hear "So Close" by Jeremy Diffey and Christin Deralas and also "Lone Rider" by BoomLa.

Enjoy!

15.09.06 | The triumphant return of the Jeremy Diffey Quintet!
Well - last night was an awesome gig at Paris Cat, in Goldie Pl!
Thanks to everyone that made it down, it was a really successful night with quite a lot of new faces (always nice!). A representative of one of the Melbourne jazz labels was in attendance, and after conversations during the set break, it's all looking quite good!

Look out for the recording later in the year, and our next gig is October 7, back at the Paris Cat. Let's pack it even more!

07.09.06 | Stay tuned for recording details...
Later this year I will be recording my debut album, with my band the Jeremy Diffey Quintet. I am still writing tunes for it, and the band is tweaking my originals in live gigs around town. We'd love you to come down and check it out, as it really helps having an audience that enjoys good jazz and funk music...
